Green Cafe: Green Building Technologies – Live Webinar from Copenhagen - December 10, starting 9:30 am, RoGBC office On Thursday, December 10, in coordination with Copenhagen, the Romania Green Building Council and the Economic Section - US Embassy Bucharest prepared an informal Green Cafe on green building topics. The event included a video conference offered by the US Department of Commerce and the International Trade Administration (DOC/ITA) on Green Build US Technology. This session highlighted the importance of leading-edge U.S. programs, products, advances and solutions in reducing GHG emissions in buildings, which account for some 40% of emissions worldwide. The video conference discussed emerging standards, Energy Service Company contributions, and the greening of U.S. Government buildings, a vital example of “low-hanging fruit” mitigation opportunities that can be undertaken at cost savings by building owners and occupants. The video conference panelists represented Energy Service Companies, Green Building NGOs, and building supply and technology companies, and addressed leading technologies and examples of green building, obstacles to implementation, and best ways forward in implementing energy efficiency in commercial and residential buildings. Both the video conference and the discussions were held in English. Who: Participants from all construction disciplines are invited. Seats are limited to 25 persons.
