Certifying residential projects with RoGBC's Green Homes and Green Mortgage program - WORKSHOP
Location : IDA - Palazzo Argentina, Bucharest, District 1, Argentina Street, 43
From: Thursday 27 November 2014, 15:30
To: Thursday 27 November 2014, 17:00

How residential project developers can certify their projects green? What are the costs and benefits to the homeowner and the developer?  How can building product and materials manufacturers and service and technology providers qualify for inclusion as Approved Solution Providers for the program?

Financing energy efficient and environmentally-responsible homes with an innovative financial product.

Romania Green Building Council  has developed an initiative for mortgage lenders doing business in Romania; an  innovative Green Mortgage product that rewards energy efficiency and environmental responsibility, provides additional capital for the project developer to invest early in essential green solutions, and rewards the homeowner with better quality homes and a lower monthly cost of ownership.

A Green Mortgage provides preferential mortgage pricing available to suitably-qualified, prospective home buyers interested in buying a home or apartment subject to guidelines established by the Romania Green Building Council related to superior energy efficiency and environmental considerations.

Financial and technical modeling have proven that investing additional capital into sensible measures for energy efficiency can be financed efficiently by the homeowner with slightly higher mortgage amounts offset by a preferential interest rate and substantial reductions in energy costs.   Other also green components of the home contribute considerably to the economic value of the property.

The workshop will cover the following points:
-    General description of the Green Homes & Green Mortgage program
-    The business case for Green Homes certification and a Green Mortgage
-    Process for certifying a project for RoGBC's Green Homes program
-    How can a residential project developer meet the criteria?
-    How will the program be marketed in general and for specific projects

The cost to attend is free for RoGBC members and 45EUR for non-members.
