Responsible Property Investment and Energy Efficiency in Buildings

Steve Borncamp participated and made a presentation on the the development of the green building marketplace in the Central Eastern European region. This was part of the 20th Economic Forum held in Krynica, Poland; a regional event bringing together investors, private companies, government representatives and NGOs. The event partner was the UNEP Finance Initiative Property Working Group and is moderated by Andy Szyman - Head of Sustainability, F&C REIT Asset Management, United Kingdom.

This panel discussion explored the fundamental principles behind the concept of Responsible Property Investment: What are the key drivers and barriers? What are the main risks and opportunities? What benefits can be realised from adopting this approach? The session specifically examined the value of energy efficient buildings, the importance of real estate for economies, and how the built environment contributes to social and environmental challenges in a global context.
