Smart Cities of Romania 2020
Location : Online
From: Wednesday 04 November 2020, 00:00
To: Wednesday 04 November 2020, 00:00

Launched in 2019, during the 5th edition of the Smart Cities of Romania national expo-conference, the idea of setting up the Smart Cities of Romania cluster, under its name SCoR Cluster, arose precisely from the desire of the founding members to form a framework innovation for those who want to actively participate in change processes, under the broad and tender theme of the sustainable development of smart cities and communities.

„The role of the Smart Cities of Romania cluster is to create a favorable innovation framework for the sustainable development solutions of smart cities and communities. We cannot talk about Smart City without taking into account sustainable development and standardization, which are fundamental elements in developing strategies and applications dedicated to smart cities. The declared mission of the SCoR Cluster is to facilitate the participation of its members in this process and to stimulate cooperation between all actors involved in the development of smart cities, as well as establishing collaborative relationships with other national European or international clusters ", Stelian Arion, President SCoR Cluster

SCoR Cluster is based on the experience of successfully organizing the annual Smart Cities of Romania event, as well as the specialized expertise of the consortium: ARTS, CNR-CME, ITS Events Management and ITS Romania.

The main objectives of the SCoR Cluster
    Promoting, correlating at national level and harmonizing at European-global level the field of Smart City;
    Increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of services and systems provided by cluster members by promoting a policy of cooperation-innovation-knowledge transfer, based on common strategies;
    Collaboration with local, regional and central public authorities and with civil society in order to define, accept and support a vision of sustainable development of communities and territories, specific to Romania.

"The Smart City domain is an area that does not lack challenges, such as the deficient legislative framework or administrative fragmentation - so visible in Bucharest - nor rivalries - between city halls and the private sector, between project developers, whether from academia or industry etc. Even in this context, there are multiple opportunities at European level, and trends confirm the growing importance of the role of clusters. We therefore have sufficient reasons to cooperate and on this occasion we invite you to join the members of SCoR Cluster in our approach to collaboration and innovation in the field of smart cities. In order to achieve our goal, we need you and we offer you an open collaboration through which to capitalize on current and future opportunities. "

Stelian Arion, President of SCoR Cluster
